BAE SYSTEMS
All Systems Go!

environmental & expo management  |  creative & visual communication  |  expo strategy  |  expo content |  expo design

The challenge

Lead the team delivering BAE Systems Australia (BAESA) 144sq m stand.

What

Traditionally stands at Land Forces (LF) showcase a big piece of kit. Or the latest tech. Or launch a new product. Going into planning for the event it was clear we wanted to take a different angle. The breadth of the role BAESA play in our nation’s sovereign defence needed to be communicated… a lot of complex programs and systems with detailed schematics had to be brought to life. Oh! and there was also a pandemic to consider. We needed to ensure a covid safe space, an open flowing stand, with limited high touch surfaces, all within a reduced budget – without seeming like it!

Introducing the hero of the space (and though we may be biased, the entire expo!) the content cube. Interactive LED panels on the outside, wrap around content screens with supporting audio on the inside. The production of 24 minutes of bespoke video content, grabbed the attention of delegates from across the halls.

Why

We were approached to project manage BAESA’s presence at LF. With no internal events team at BAESA it was critical someone keep an eye on all stakeholders, closely manage suppliers and wrangle all moving parts. BAESA needed the glue and we were excited to help them succeed.

How

With a strong set of meeting rhythms, deadlines and trust amongst partners we were able to generate an unprecedented level of collaboration. Also coming in under budget despite some last minute covid curve balls! One of our key aims with any client is to be that safe pair of hands – the trusted extension of the internal team. Mission accomplished.

Thanks to Pico+, Monkey Stack and Daylight Breaks for stand and content contributions respectively.

The result

A expo stand that delivered a real impact and came in under budget despite some last minute covid curve balls! An elevated experience for attendees that re-framed BAE’s potential as a technologically savvy, broad-spectrum partner in the Land space.
