The challenge
Team Global Express recently separated from Toll Group and did it during COVID lockdowns. They needed to reconnect with their people, engage them around important company updates, and kick start the exciting times ahead for their organisation. The result needed to be delivered within 3 weeks from brief to event.
What
GE Live was the first company-wide live event since COVID restrictions have eased and since Global Express separated from Toll Group. A hybrid event with a live audience of 320 and a virtual audience of over 1,000 tuned in from across Australia & New Zealand.
Why
Producing a hybrid event meant Global Express could bring the majority of their people together to hear from their leadership team and network face to face again. The town hall provided a forum for CEO Christine Holgate to provide an update followed by senior leadership team members presenting their business, finance, and transformation strategies.
The leadership team also provided people and culture updates and recognised their amazing people, including some awesome 20+ year veterans.
How
The Bite Project provided full event and production management inclusive of venue & catering, live event audio visual, and the technical production of a live stream for those unable to attend in person.
The event included audience interactivity where both the live and virtual audience could participate together, an ‘In Conversation’ interview with special guest Ken Allen (transformation guru and author of Radical Simplicity), and a last minute remote presenter live cross for their Chairman who could not attend in person.
The result?
A seamless hybrid production that reconnected Global Express’s people with each other and the strategic direction of the organisation. Their live and virtual attendees left feeling equally connected and energised; ready to embrace big things ahead.
